Not all uploaders actually speak, learn or teach the posts; they upload. And if it is not clear from the description, then there is only one way to find out - download it and find out for yourself. That is the whole idea anyway: for you to download and see if the course / book is what you are looking for.

So maybe you come from Hong Kong? Even China uses simplified Chinese. What's the point with so many strokes? A'int it hard enough ?

What exactly is your question? There are many points, one of the main would be the Mandarin etymology and the system of radical, an other would be the calligraphy, a third one would be the interpretation of documents before the Mao era in China, one the understanding of Japanese, Japanese, Vietnamese (before the French era) characters from Chinese origin, another would be the understanding of Characters created by Japanese during the Meiji era and later borrowed by Chinese (loanwords),and so on... Now, I agree that the purpose of simple characters is indeed to be easier to write and memorize, but the fact that a frog likes its well doesn't mean that the universe of others should be reduced to that well... Ain't it?

Thanks so much! When I was living in Taiwan I used the first two editions of this book. I gave my first edition away and my second is back home in England. It's a fantastic book overall!
