Learning to Use Articles-Grammar-Use of article-The proposed manual is devoted to one of the most complex and important grammatical phenomena of the English language-actor. According to experts of the methodology of teaching foreign languages and teachers of English, numerous mistakes in the use of articles are encountered in the speech of students not only of juniors, but also of students of senior courses of institutes and foreign language faculties, that is, in the near future, teachers of the English language.

One of the main difficulties is that teaching the use of articles occurs without reliance on native (Russian) language, in which articles are absent. Another, no less difficulty, is the difficulty in determining the grammatical meanings of the articles, which are the main means of expressing the category of certainty.
At the same time, the high frequency of the use of the articles, which is explained by their morphological function of the noun's indicators, their role in the formation of the functional perspective of the sentence make the training in the proper use of articles in speech a task of primary importance.

The foregoing determines the content and structure of the manual. The first part includes a detailed description of the rules for the operation of articles in modern English.

The authors considered it necessary to provide some information about the article that do not directly concern the practical use of articles. We have in mind a brief description of the article as one of the components of the syntactic class of determinatives.
This information seems to us essential for the expansion of the philological horizon of students.

When formulating the rules, the terminology used in grammars-Soviet authors was used, as well as in foreign grammars published in our country.
