Why would you like to learn Russian?

well, i want to learn Russian because of my job, i am a mechanical engineer and so we do lots of things for russian firms.

to allow to me to speak with friends and also it may help me

Dear Vika,

First of all, thank you for your remarkable iniciative. In my part, and I'm sure all other subscribers will agree, this is a great, great opportunity - and much appreciated!

I want to learn russian for several reasons. Although I know very little about Russia, your culture has always fascinated me, specially the literature and arts. To me studying a new language is, also, understanding and embracing a culture, so it is in my view a very interesting and captivating process. I also always wanted to learn a language in a different alphabet, and I find the "sound" of russian to be very elegant.

My professional goal today is to work with languages - more specifically with translation and interpreting - and in the editoral business. So far I speak brazilian portuguese (my native language), english, spanish and am learning french.

Forgive me for my crude ignorance, but "Vika" is a man's or woman's name?

You can find out the gender by the ending of the word in Russian

The most Russian women's names have ending -a or -я (ya)
( to be honest some men's names have the same ending... )

What should we do now? Just be patient, please!
