The Sociolinguistic Survey of Northern Pakistan volumes were published in 1992. They provide detailed information on the use and relationships of 28 languages in Northern Pakistan. They have served as a standard of information for the years since their publication. They have been difficult to obtain so are now made more freely available. Some languages are covered more thoroughly than others.
