Idiom of the Day: to get one's ass in gear
Here is an informal idiom:
Example: a university student has to complete 3 pieces of homework before next week. She has not started any of them - so she is being lazy. Her friend says to her "you really need to get your ass in gear".
It means "you really need to start your homework and finish it quickly".
To get one's ass in gear = to work on something more efficiently/quickly
Hope it's useful!
